2008 People Saving People (PSP) Award

The People Saving People (PSP) Award is presented to the person or organization who receives the highest accumulated score in each category. This award is open to any individual or organization that advocates safety and has a positive effect on transportation safety.

The 2008 PSP Award winners are:

2008 LETSAC "Officer of the Year" (OTY)Award

The LETSAC "Officer of the Year" award recognizes an officer's contributions to traffic safety and enforcement. The award is open to all commissioned officers in Missouri and anyone (Chief, Sheriff, commanding officer or fellow officer) can nominate a commissioned officer for this award to be presented at this years LETSAC conference banquet on July 17, 2008.

The 2008 Officer of the Year Award winners are:

About the Law Enforcement Traffic Safety Advisory Council (L.E.T.S.A.C.)

Law Enforcement Traffic Safety Advisory Council, is the primary traffic law enforcement group under the authority of Missouri Division of Highway Safety and the Department of Public Safety. The L.E.T.S.A.C. organization provides a link between the local law enforcement agencies, including city, county and state, and the Governor’s Highway Safety Office under the Department of Public Safety. Specifically the Organization provides training, information, services, and expert testimony to the General Assembly on a wide variety of requested issues. The organization holds an annual conference each summer to provide up-to-date training for attending traffic officers. In addition the organization has several standing committees that deal with a variety of issues that effect traffic and highway safety in Missouri. The board is made up of elected law enforcement officials in each of the M.S.H.P. troops, as well as an appointed board member from Kansas City, St. Louis, and the M.S.H.P.

LETSAC Sponsored Regional Training

Impaired Driving Detection (8 hours)
This special 8-hour course has been primarily developed as additional training for law enforcement agencies involved in the 2008 Missouri Corridor Enforcement efforts, however any law enforcement personnel are invited. P.O.S.T. hours are available, 4 legal & 4 technical.

Divided into two 4-hour training blocks with block one covering "Drugs That Impair Driving" and block two covering "Documenting and Testifying DWI Cases".


All FY'08 courses have been completed.
